It can be estimated that the diagnosis of back pain or neck pain applies to about half of the patients Dr. Ryu has successfully treated and continues to treat.  Pain in these areas is a very common complaint from people of all walks of life.  When a muscle is overworked, a tight band develops within the muscle.  This is what we call a “knot.”  Healthy muscle is able to fully contract and relax while tight muscle is restricted.  This can lead to weaker muscles and pain that can progress.
